EAL-04A PATHFINDER ALPHA
The original Pathfinder was one of the oldest exo-armors in the Jovian military arsenal. A development of the ill-fated EAL-03, the Pathfinder was found to be a rugged if simplistic design, easy to field and maintain. About half of the JAF's exo-armor squadrons were composed of Pathfinders at the time of the Battle of Elysee, and although somewhat fragile by exo-armor standards, they performed admirably despite heavy losses. Almost immediately following the Battle of Elysee, an upgrade program was started to rebuild the forces of the JAF. The engineers at JAW reworked the design, reshaping the Pathfinder's complex rounded skin into something that was easier to mass-produce. The internal mechanisms were also reworked for improved performances, following pilots' advices and suggestions. The resulting machine was given the identification code Pathfinder Alpha, to distinguish from its predecessor.
Great pains were taken to make the assembly of this kit as simple as possible. To attain this objective, the number of parts was kept to a minimum. The material used for casting the kit is a lightweight, plastic-like yet resistant resin. It is very easy to work with and has a smooth surface, much like the injected styrene plastic found in mainstream commercial kits. The assembly is extremely simple and done via ball joints and plugs (using metal pins on major points is still recommended), resulting in a solid structure and nearly endless positioning possibilities.
The sculpting of this kit was done with great attention to the minutest of mechanisms, such as the details of the shoulders, backpack, hands and arms. Realism was pushed to the maximum with the presence of fuel and control lines and engraved patterns on many mechanisms and surfaces. The kit also comes with a base featuring an engraved Jovian Confederation crest. The final result is a finely crafted model that exactly reproduces the heroic aura that has always surrounded this most popular Jovian Chronicles(tm) combat machine. Comprehensive and fully illustrated multilingual instructions are included.
